I'm going to have a grand "End of School" blog but I'm not really done with school yet so I'm sort of waiting. It will be a fun blog with LOTS of Photobooth pics of me being disgusted with school, in conference call meetings, drinking wine, eating apples, drinking more wine, working with my group etc. For now, I'm coming back to my blog after a mini-hiatus (due to thesis work) and I think I'll blog about what everyone talks about every day... the weather.

I've been thinking a lot about the weather lately because of how different it is in varying places. I was Skyping with Eric Sunday and he was in Australia where it's fall, he's now flying to Hawaii the land of eternal summer, then he'll be in Wisconsin on Friday where they are having Spriwinter. Finally, he's coming to NYC Saturday and it has been raining cats, dogs, plastic bags, umbrellas and newspapers here.

His travels got me thinking of how bizarre weather is and what would it be like to experience all four seasons in 1 week?! Maybe if we keep pumping CO2 up into the air we'll all know what it's like, hopefully not...

Luckily I don't have to experience that yet and for now I'll take the rain.

Poem from Stace'

Just got this poem from my friend Stacey, she's in Antigo, WI. I miss her.

Around the corner I have a friend,
In this great city that has no end,

Yet the days go by and weeks rush on,
And before I know it, a year is gone.

And I never see my old friends face,
For life is a swift and terrible race,

He knows I like him just as well,
As in the days when I rang his bell.

And he rang mine but we were younger then,
And now we are busy, tired men.

Tired of playing a foolish game,
Tired of trying to make a name.

'Tomorrow' I say! 'I will call on Jim
Just to show that I'm thinking of him.'

But tomorrow comes and tomorrow goes,
And distance between us grows and grows.

Around the corner, yet miles away,
'Here's a telegram sir,' 'Jim died today.'

And that's what we get and deserve in the end
Around the corner, a vanished friend.

Remember to always say what you mean.
If you love someone, tell them.

Because when you decide that it is the right time it might be too late.
Seize the day. Never have regrets.

And most importantly, stay close to your friends
and family, for they have helped
make you the person that you are today.
